Before the ink dried on Part 1 of our Jolyon West series, we started running down sources for Part 2, due out this weekend. A big one being the love that dare not speak its name:
Dave Ferrie was a pedo, y’know. Worse, he hypnotized people.
There’s tantalizing whispers of it everywhere you look - in JFK. Among cops. Even, allegedly, at the Jefferson Parish Sheriff, custodian of all public records.1
Like a good intrepid gumshoe, we submitted a records request and duly provided our fake government ID to the stupid county portal. The custodian got back to us right quick:
Excepting our helpful “Maybe the records weren’t digitized and are still on paper?” prod, that’s all she wrote - sorry, Charlie. Hit the bricks.
So in the very county he was arrested, Ferrie - mentor (as we’ll cover in Part 2) of JFK’s alleged assassin, a notorious kiddy diddler - just doesn’t have any records on him. Not even paper ones.
They’re dabbing on us.
